Indiana Auction

Two weeks ago my husband and I found an auction in LaPorte Indiana. If you spend much time at small town auctions you never know what you will find. The bidding could be low or go through the roof. You can also find real antiques or real junk and when I say junk, I mean stuff that really should be thrown away. But no matter what is at the auction,  it is always a unique experience. When looking around the room at an auction there are typically three types of people:

1. Dealers

2. Collectors

3. Horders

I think I fall somewhere between the collector and horder catagories. Sometimes I buy stuff for no reason except that I just want it, but unlike a horter, I have no issue selling the items or giving them aways just as easily.

First item we found was an antique blender. My husband bid on this, took it straight home and rewired it. 

It is now for sale in my mothers store.

Another find of my husbands: this is one of those finds, you just have to have because it is weird, we are not exactly sure what to do with it, but one thing is for sure, is that we are not going to make it into a clock.

This book is not in perfect shape but has great illustrations inside. That could be framed and sold. The table cloth was also a find as well as a framed picture and game.

The last featured item is a slot machine from the 1970's. It cost $2.50 along with the game and had $2.70 cents worth of dimes inside the newest one was from 1973.  It of course did not work but after about an hour my husband had it working. We bought a few more things and spent $105.00.
